GSAHEC supports local health care by providing continuing education programs to meet health providers’ professional development needs and retain them in the communities who need them most.
Gulfcoast South AHEC strives to provide convenient and cost effective professional continuing education for health care professionals in its four-county service area. We are committed to assessing the educational needs of these professionals and using our resources to further increase and update their clinical knowledge base. We do this in several ways: by offering on-site, live programs; facilitation of distance learning via teleconferences; provision of home study courses and lastly, by encouraging use of our lending library.
As a provider of continuing education we can offer credit for nurses, social workers, mental health counselors, marriage/family therapists and physicians. Some topics include Domestic Violence, HIV/AIDS Updates, Cultural Competency and Medical Spanish.
Home study courses are available on loan for up to a one month period and in most cases are free. Others are available for a minimal fee.
