If you work in a health care setting in Florida, you recognize the value of knowing some basic Spanish. Each day health care professionals are faced with communication impediments that result from language barriers. It's not only frustrating to miscommunicate, but it can also be dangerous to patients.
Gulfcoast South AHEC's Medical Spanish course is designed for both non-Spanish speakers and limited-Spanish speakers. This thirty (30) hour course introduces conversational activities that assist in communicating with Spanish speaking patients in a health care setting. Each course must have a minimum of ten (10), but no more than twenty-five participants. This helps ensure a quality educational experience.
Gulfcoast South AHEC offers this training course in Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee and Sarasota counties ONLY.
