During the FY 07-08 Florida Legislature session the Florida AHEC Network was awarded funding to educate health profession students and health care professionals on the dangers of tobacco and to develop cessation programs for users who want to quit.
The AHEC Tobacco Training and Cessation (A.T.T.A.C.) program was developed and implemented in collaboration with our community and academic partners.
The A.T.T.A.C. program partners with area Colleges and Universities to train their health professions students on tobacco use, prevention and cessation issues. Click here for more information for faculty and health professions students.
The
A.T.T.A.C. program utilizes trained Tobacco Cessation Specialists
to provide free counseling and support services to community members interested in quitting tobacco.
We also provide onsite services to employers wishing to compliment
or implement a worksite wellness program.
Click here to find out more information about our cessation services.
The A.T.T.A.C. program offers health care professionals continuing education opportunities on a variety of tobacco related subjects. Click here for more information about continuing education.
The A.T.T.A.C. program promotes and supports referrals to the Florida State QuitLine.
Sponsored by Gulfcoast South AHEC and the State of Florida, Department of Health.
