Client Cessation Services
Our Tobacco Cessation Specialists (the QuitTeam) offer
free smoking cessation services to community members with limited access to quality healthcare in the counties of Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee and Sarasota.
Clients are self-referred or are referred by health care providers from DeSoto Memorial Hospital, Manatee County Rural Health Services and the Healthy Start Coalitions in Charlotte, Manatee and Sarasota Counties.
The QuitTeam works with the client to develop a personalized quit plan. Support sessions can be conducted on an individual basis, in a group setting or over the phone.

Sessions include education on the following topics:
Addiction, withdrawal and medications
Planning for the quit date
Dealing with triggers
Overcoming cravings
Relapse prevention
After the client successfully completes the program and graduates, a member of the QuitTeam will follow up to provide continuing relapse support, if desired.
